Forms 4.5 Full screen menus

[Quoted] We're finally beginning to convert from Form3 to 4.5 in earnest (having waffled for /months/).

And we find that 4.5 doesn't handle Full screen menus properly. Specifically, they do not maintain context, so when you enter, and then exit a form, you're thrown back to the top level menu.

Whilst this is the behaviour I'd expect from a pull-down menu, it's not what we're used to for full screen. Having reported it to Oracle, they claim that it's always worked that way (untrue), and that they're not going to be supporting full-screen menus much longer anyway.

As a result, we're seriously considering writing our own menu appllication (possibly still using forms 4.5, but displaying the way WE want them to) reading the existing menu tables (so we can still claim compatability with designer 2k).

I was wondering whether anybody had any experience, comments, or useful suggestions.
