Jeff,

You are correct, but don't get trapped into thinking that this is a Tandem deficiency. This is true of ANY vendor's ODBC implementation. ODBC client drivers are always supplied by the vendor of the server DBMS, not the client environment. For instance, the Windows drivers that allow you to access Oracle, Sybase, and Paradox from a Windows client are developed and provided by Oracle, Sybase, and Borland...not Microsoft (I know, I know...you can get them from Microsoft, but they get them from the DBMS vendors.)
