Oracle forms

Hi : I have some basic questions about Oracle forms 4.5:

• 1> When I open my form say test.fmb, on the top I see two pulldown lists BLOCKS, AND CANVAS, if I select an already displayed block or canvas by mistake the whole form hangs. Can one suggest if I need to set any attributes.

2> I have a table usertable, one of the elements is loginid, it is a combo box, and a primary key from the BASE TABLE. when I select any item from the list, its record is displayed.The code I have in the when_list_change does that. the code is "select ... INTO ... where .... '; I can delete and add any element to the list, but if I select an item and try to update the record, I get a message 'RECORD ALREADY INSERTED'. But if I select any record thru the NEXT_RECORD command, I can update the record w/o any problems. What could have caused this error?.
