reports2.5: No gridlines/pagebreaks under NT

[PLEASE HELP] I am using Reports 2.5 version 2.5.5.2.7 on Windows NT ver 4. The problem I am having is that I can not see the page breaks or grid lines in the layout editor when running on Windows NT.

Oracle has recognized such a problem before and suggested upgrading to a newer version.
However, I am looking for an alternate soloution. Does anybody know if there is a patch for
this bug, or some way around upgrading to a newer version?
