LOV indicator does not show in status line

in v3 forms we are using a "select 1 from dual" as LOV text so that the <List> indicator shows in status line and we use Key-Listval to do some process. This was done just to be consistent to the user with the <List> indicator.

in v45 for some of these same forms some items do not display the <List
> indicator in the status line

did anyone use this kind of logic in their forms aor have faced this problem before - if yes please let me know how it was worked around
