Invoking a program from a stored procedure..

Hello,

[Quoted] I would be pleased to know if it is possible to call a program (like a vb application..) from an Oracle stored prcedure.. The idea is the procedure just calling the program and then going on in its business..
This procedure would be invoked through the web server..
