Converting .rep back to .rdf

Greetings all...

[Quoted] One of our developers here recently wiped out his hard drive and reinstalled his software. He inadvertantly saved only the .rep files, and obviously cannot open them up using Reports 2.5 Designer. Is there a way to "decompile" or convert a .rep file back to a .rdf, or is this guy SOL?
