- ORACLE ANNOUNCES ITS PLANS FOR ORACLE7 SUPPORT AND DEVELOPMENT When will Oracle wrap up scheduled developments of Oracle7, and what type of support will it provide for your existing Oracle7 databases? Ken Jacobs, vice president of product strategy at Oracle, lets you know.
- ORACLE SALES SOFTWARE DEBUTS Oracle released its new sales force automation suite, Oracle Sales and Marketing (OSM). OSM also offers complete support for direct marketing and campaign management.
- ORACLE REVISES REPORTED EARNINGS Oracle is reworking the accounting for its August acquisition of Treasury Services Corp. to give the company better long-term earnings.
- IQ SOFTWARE ACQUIRES INTERSOLV TOOLS IQ Software announced its purchase of two products from Intersolv Inc. -- DataDirect Explorer and DataDirect SmartData, along with their related technology.
- QUEST ACQUIRES SQL NAVIGATOR FROM TECHNOSOLUTIONS CORP. Quest Software Inc., announced the acquisition of SQL Navigator from TechnoSolutions Corp. SQL Navigator is a server-side development tool for SQL and PL/SQL applications on Oracle databases.
- DBMS MAGAZINE ANNOUNCES 1997 READERS' CHOICE AWARD WINNERS Winners of the annual DBMS Readers' Choice Awards were announced this week by DBMS Editor-in-Chief, Maurice Frank. Surprise, surprise, Oracle topped the list of winners.
