I have installed on one NT (NT server 3.51) Oracle 7.3 and on the other NT (NT WKS 4) I still use Oracle 7.1 until I have migrated all DOS application that needed in the past SQLNET v1

I have also installed Windows tools from Oracle 7.3 version on my Wfw311 PC

Now, If I connect to the 7.1 oracle server, I jut get a few warning about the version but I can connect, query the database and exit SQLPLUS without problem.

When I try to connect to use SQLPLUS to the NT with latest version 7.3, I can connect and execute sql just once.

If I exit the program of change the username/password, the TCP listener service on the 7.3 serveur will stop.

I have to go in the control panel of the NT computer and restart the listener server

This is always so EVERY TIMES. I can reproduce this problem 100% quaranty.

What kind of problem this can be ?

I have copied the *.ora configuration files from network\admin from the NT4 that is running fine and just changed the computer name to be sure the configuration of SQLNET is the same in both case.

I have activated the trace and log but does not help me. I have removed password for listener,
and have set timeout to 0 so that Oracle listener will always wait

many thanks for the help

Nicolas
