Hi,

We are faced with a migration problem. We currently have some financial and business information systems running on ctree. Its a rather old version of ctree, and we want to migrate to oracle.

The applications are character based (vt220, wyse-60) and our first task is to just replace the underlying RDBMS from ctree to oracle.

The ctree applications are written in cobol and compiled in some object code which is interpreted by a program called absfg (a COFF executable for SCO UNIX). absfg is a program which loads the cobol module and connects it to the ctree database.

Now my boss wants a program called oraclefg which is also a COFF executable and interprets the same cobol objecte code and connects it to the ORACLE RDBMS Instance.

Is this goal a mission impossible or can it be done?

TIA Robert
