HELP: Financials APP Question

Has anyone gotten the global demo database to work with their installed applications (10.7) and SC Client 16.1??? Oracle support has been dismal. The demo database can be logged into thru sqlplus, but the app NEVER can validate and user/password combination. I have relinked everything...
