Hi, we're in the middle of the design phase for a Forms application. It's been brought up that we may want to figure out how to install the finished product eventually. I'm wondering if any of you out there have had any success with the Oracle Installer and customizing it enough to make an installation workable. It seems - from my preliminary investigation - that the only way to include ones own application in the Oracle Installer list of components is to type out the config files by hand...is there no way to automate this process? My main concern is that it would be easiest to use the Oracle Installer to install the required run-times, but a third-party (eg, InstallShield) installation utility seems to be much easier as far as the actual application is concerned. What we basically want to end up with is a single installation program for both the run-times and the application.

Hopefully this question is not too convoluted to understand, thanks in advance for any and all help.

Thanks,
SrA Voytek Jarnot
