Direct Path SQL Loader on LONG fields

Has anyone had any luck loading in LONG fields using SQL Loader in direct path mode? I have not, so far, been able to load fields with newlines in them, and have had to wrap my lines around using "continueif". Still, the tables I load with long fields have some kind of corruption that shows up when I do an analyze on them. Conventional path loads work fine.
