If you want to build a fairly big application, Designer will certainly save you time. The fastest thing to do it is to spend some time on a good template structure (or get it somewhere else). Then generate the necessary scripts and forms. After that some handwork will be necessary, but this will be faster than trying to generate your apllication 100%. If you expect a lot of modifications afterwards, you should try to generate as much as possible.
