Number of Rows matching query

Hi

[Quoted] This is (I believe) a simple question. Apologies in advance for missing the obvious/ incorrect terminology.

I have a master-detail relationship. Deferred & Auto-Query are true. When I go to the detail block (by clicking on a particular item), I would like to know the number of rows which the query retrieves. More specifically, I need to whether or not any rows were found at all.

I looked at Post-Select. Here the help says "for example, an action based on the number of records that match the query criteria."

This is what I want to do, but for the life of me, I can't find what to look at to see the number of rows retrieved. Can anyone help?
