Oracle 7.3 calling 3GL on IBM AIX & vice-versa

Hi,
I'm new to Oracle, but very soon I'll need to make some programs (using IBM C/C++ for AIX 4.2, probably!) that have to call routines inside an Oracle 7.3 database. I will have also have to call other 3GL programs from inside Oracle.
At this moment I'm just preparing this work, so, can anyone advise me on what will be the best way to do this interfaces? Thanks
