Does Dev/2000 does/will use JFC?

I know that the current Dev/2000 uses the Java 1.1 event model, and will not work with current browsers, but does anybody know if it uses the JFC? Now that MS is not going to support JFC, will this cause a problem for IE trying to run a web-app generated by Dev/2000?
