This is the intended behaviour. Regeneration *ONLY* replaces generated trigger code. It will not let you add new items to already existing blocks; in fact, it will synch the repository with the items in your modified form, which included deleting Detailed Column Usages if there is no matching item in the form.

Regeneration will not update your layout.

Regeneration will let you add new *blocks*, which will appear in New Window/New Page.
