This Mail is in fact no answer to your problem but something of a workaround. If you take instead of the Oracle Enterprise Manager a smaler and more powerfull database tool like Hora (see www.keeptool.swn.de for a demo version) there will be no problem in using both: Designer 2000 and Hora. Hora is a more powerfull tool than the Enterprise Manager (visualise master/detail relations, performance monitor, PL/SQL GUI, about $ 200,-) and it is a handy tool (about 5 MB, easy installation with setup ...). Sorry that i cant help you with your problem.
