I have the exact same problem using eXodus (White Pine) on a Compaq/Win95 machine. In local window manager mode, it does ont work. In host window mode, using Open Windows or CDE, it works fine. Oracle told me it was a X11R6 error message and they couldn't help me. White Pine told me the software could only be run in Open Windows ( all X is not created equal ;), not local mode.

Oddly enough, I downlaoded SCO's XVision demo, and it works like a champ. I can run the oracle motif stuff just fine. Unfortunately, I can't convince the boss to spend the money to get another X server package.

Anybody get the motif tools to successfully run under eXodus?
