I was having trouble installing the 32-bit version of software on the CD with Oracle Unleashed. Technical support at Sams tells me that the problem is that my CD-ROM driver is in real mode and not protected mode. I have a generic CD_ROM drive which tells me to use the setup options based on Sanyo as the manufacturer.

I originally purchased this system for use on Windows 3.1. Can I fix this so it will work on Windows 95 long file names?

This is their response:

Thank you for contacting us. The problem may be resulting from using a real-mode CD-ROM driver as opposed to a protected-mode one. Many real-mode drivers are still in use in Windows 95 systems, but they won't read files mastered in Windows 95's long-filename format (as opposed to the DOS 8.3 naming convention).

Thanks for any help.
