Sorry, I can't offer a generated solution, can only say that I have tried both the things you mention and coudn't make it work. I could get a poplist to work in the query block, but not radio groups or check-boxes (had to add them myself to the generated code).

I also wanted a lov in the query block and nothing happened. I assumed it was because I wanted the validation from a lookup table. I eventually used a set of allowable values and had a poplist generated. Then in the generated code the setting up of the domain with static values can be replaced with a cursor to get the values from a table. I was a bit disappointed that this couldn't be generated (as far as I could see).
