PowerBuilder and Personal Oracle 7

According to PowerBuilder, one needs to purchase the Professional (middle level) release to access Personal Oracle7, because the Desktop release of PB 5.0 does not contain ODBC drivers.

Has anyone tried to find a way around this? It would be nice from a cost standpoint to try and connect PB Desktop 5.0 to Personal Oracle7 for standalone development. Powersoft apparently does not consider PO7 a "desktop database"...
