I have what 'seems' like a simple problem with Oracle. I am using the Pro*C compiler and have a simple SQL UPDATE statement. The statement works if I hardcode a variable into to SET clause but fails if I use a host variable. The error is:

ORA-03115: unsupported network datatype or representation

If abyone out there has insight into this I would appreciate hearing from you. And, thanks in advance.

The other problem I have is Oracle support. It has been 9 days since I opened a TAR on this (are you listening Oracle?) and all I have gotten from them is: reninstall Oracle and call us back... compile and run sample1.pc and call us back.... try sample2.pc and sample3.pc... we'll page someone and have them call you.... This is a language group problem... this is a UNIX group problem....

So far NO ONE there has really LISTENED to what the problem is and tried to solve it. It seems like they are more interested in getting this off their platter by giving it back to me or another group.
