Help on Oracle Reports 2.0

Hello Oracle Reports Gurus,
Iam trying to download the o/p generated by Oracle reports into
Spreadsheet.
I have three columns and Iam concatenating each column with the tab
character CHR(9),still the o/p is not getting delimited with tab.
Am I missing something here.I would appreciate any help/suggestions.
Since there are lot of calculation/manipulation is involved ,Iam unable
do the same stuff in SQL*Plus.
