Passing parameter from Oracle Forms to Oracle Reports

I use RUN_PRODUCT built-in in Oracle Form to invoke Oracle Report. I found that the leading spaces of the TEXT_PARAMETER are gone after the parameter passed to Oracle Report. Is it a bug or a feature ? Can I preserve the leading spaces ?
