I have used it extensively both as an administrative repository for the database as well as formally
along with Information Engineering when I was consulting. I found its use especially useful for
rapid system analysis, design, prototype and implementation. Although I disliked the app generators
being the control freak that I am, the database generators were more worth putting up with. The tool
rushed us thru strategy/analysis/design phases very quickly (2 months) but there was a learning curve
which needed to be addressed both in areas of general systsem analysis and design and then applying
its use in the des2k. The oracle education classes are among the few classes available. My peers who
took them felt they were generally lightweight but others said it helped. Either way, it takes time. My
philosophy has always been just simply read the documentation and try doing a simple mock project to get
used to using a tool.
