Yeah. We are just starting to use an OTG. Our is for Image/SQL, on an HP MPE/iX platform. It had been quite laborious to install. However, now it's done, it seems to work fine. Just keep in mind that a gateway isn't native, so it's restricted to SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, and stuff like that. Also, you cannot update Oracle tables and linked tables within the same transaction. Last point: I suspect that OTG are usually delivered asynchronously with other main products (as Oracle db or SQLNET). It had been the case for us so we had to to use two different versions of SQLNET at the same time.
I'm also interested with an OTG for dbms on AS/400 because our company which used HP MPE/iX bought another company with applications based on AS/400.
