I assume you want screen shots for a user guide?

If you are on Windows then you can use the Alt-PrintScreen key to copy the currently active window to the clipboard. It can then be pasted to something like Windows Paint and saved as a bitmap file.

Can't help you on Unix, although I think Motif has a similar finction
