On my Windows95 pc at home, I installed Oracle's trial version of Personal Oracle 7 for Windows 95, and then I installed the trial version of Developer 2000 v1.2, and had no problems getting them to connect (using userid/password only, without the _at_2: ).
I installed the W95 version into its default directory, and put all the v1.2 stuff into another (orawin31).
The database and Forms really fly compared to my pc at the office! Part of it is due to the faster processor, but some things go 5x faster.
Maybe I just got lucky.
