Read doc ID 285447.1 I've see this behavior even in an Oracle 11gR2 and with cursor_sharing=force... DBA can't do anything ; bad SQL development ! Other point matching your issue : queries are with in non equality predicates (eg >, <, >=, <=, LIKE). See doc ID 364845.1 Olivier
