I do agree with you that it is fighting windmills with respect to the original member of ID-10-T that posted the thread it's also for those who post asking for said materials since it appears that they will monitor the post and return to check replies.

I don't do it to get the original spammer, I try to curb the responses (although the exercise is most likely futile).

I shall in the future refrain from further posting on such items; again I do agree with your sentiments and it's taken me a while to fight the desire to reprimand those who spam the newsgroup.
