If you search on google you can find lots of free videos on Informatica. I have used this tool in my work for 2 years extracting data from SAP into Oracle and sql server databases. I was lucky to get training on Power Center. Even after training, I found it was not easy to implement complex logic. I implemented lot of my logic in Oracle pl/sql stored procedures which I called from Informatica. This way I could take advantage of my Oracle skills as well as Informatica. Without Informatica, no way I could bring data from SAP because SAP programming requires knowledge of ABAP etc.. Why every big company has to create their own language!!! Good luck with Informatica.

I also got to use SSIS, SQL Server Integration Services. SSIS is not limiited to SQL Server. It can connect to Oracle, Teradata and I think SAP (I have not tried that..). In some respects SSIS is better than Informatica and easier to learn. I learnt SSIS without any formal training. Received on Wed Aug 14 2013 - 04:21:20 CEST
