# I am a new timer into the DBA (Oracle) world.

No such thing unfortunately ... becoming an Oracle DBA and getting hired as one takes many years.

# Ive been trying to setup 11g db on my PC to no avail.

Jeffrey Hunter has a whole bunch of excellent set it up articles ... all the steps ... all the details ...

Click the oracle link on left hand side and ( very carefully ) choose one of the setups that makes sense to you.

A machine running XP won't cut it probably ... lots of alternatives ... could put up a vm under virtual box and then run linux on that ...

Make sure you match your machines operating system and requirements to what Jeffrey lists as pre-requisites for the option you select.
