Oracle DBA - W2 only

Role and Responsibilities:

The Candidate will be essential in contributing to the solution architecture and development of the solution to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance required by our business systems. Additional roles and responsibilities include:

Performance monitoring, reporting and tuning of Oracle databases. Review and tuning SQL and PL/SQL code.
Designing database packages and procedures. Support and assistance to the development team in the design, development, testing, tuning and implementation of the application and processes.
Creation and tuning of SQL queries and routines. Required to deal with complex data models and object relational database mapping.
Creation and migration of the solution for the full suite of development, test and production environments. Architecture and creation of ‘one-off’ processes to support the data conversion effort from Sybase to Oracle.

This job requires excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Due to the criticality of this project, self motivation and the ability to learn quickly are essential.

Skills and Experience:
Essential Skills:

In depth knowledge of Oracle 10g and relational databases. In depth knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL including tuning. Experience with UNIX including commands and shell scripting. Oracle performance and tuning skills including the use of tracing facilities.
Good working knowledge of job scheduling and monitoring tools. Experience of working on enterprise level projects with multiple tasks.
Experience of working with multiple teams within a business.

Other skills of interest:

Familiarity with Oracle specific tools and utilities. Oracle Certification.
Knowledge of XML and HTML
Good documenting skills (Windows office/ Visio, etc) Knowledge of data warehousing.
Proven ability to work independently
