Well, ask that impatient manager to do the same to RAID10 and watch the results? Nothing to do with raid5: idiocy is independent of raid types...

That one is straight out of the demented minds of disk managers! Spent some time this year trying to make an emc "guru" understand that if they can't switch   a standby san without corrupting one of my prod dbs (yes, it happened...), there is no way in the world I'll let them have even more access to "snap" ANYTHING!
