Retention policies and archivelogs when using dataguard

Prior to using dataguard I was happy to manage all rman backups & archivelogs using a retention policy

How to I manage everything now that they are used for dataguard ie I need delete obsolete to understand retention policy and the fact that archivelogs may be needed for dataguard
