It may be possible, the documentation is a bit unclear.

Oracle Server Reference lists following options for LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_n parameter (page 1-77 of the manual)

MANDATORY|OPTIONAL
REOPEN
ALTERNATE
MAX_FAILURE
etc

but not all of them are described in the notes.

It may be possible to set up several alternative destinations, so when Oracle cannot write to
LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_1 it will switch to DEST_2 and so on. Received on Mon Sep 14 2009 - 07:27:27 CDT
