We recently switched from TOAD to Oracle's SQL Developer (free) for object browsing and writing SQL. Oracle has their Data Modeling extension for SQL Developer, but the list price is USD $3,000 + USD ~ $600 per year for maintenance. Thought it was a replacement for Oracle Designer, but evidently it doesn't do absolutely everything Designer did.
Enterprise Architect, we already have licenses for. So I'm experimenting with it. But it's not purpose-built for database design.
What does Rational Rose cost. I've been told PowerDesigner is nice as well as affordable. Didn't realize Sybase was still in business though. Received on Thu Jul 23 2009 - 14:50:44 CDT
