This is really something that can best be demonstrated with specific examples and benchmark testing on a system with data that is meaningful to you.

Lots of people have done write-ups and have canned examples showing the trade-offs involved if you spend some time searching around for stuff like that is is there already.

But again ... they will be canned examples ... and perhaps not meaningful to your systems and your data.
