Well, the issue has been resolved. x11 forwarding was not running on the server. Once I had the sys admin turn it back on, oms started fine from my new PC.

What I've learned:
1. x11 forwarding must be running for oms to start up using my new PC.

What I still don't know:
1. why x11 forwarding has to be running, or if indeed it is supposed to be a requirement.
2. why oms started from the PC that I used when installing OEM without x11 forwarding running. Received on Fri Feb 20 2009 - 15:21:51 CST
