Interactive Design Technologist
Reuters is seeking an Interactive Design Technologist contractor for the Reuters Media Design team, which is responsible for the design, information architecture, user experience, and front-end design of the global Reuters.com news websites.

The Interactive Design Technologist will leverage design and development skills in a fast-paced, news-centric environment. The role will focus on building and maintaining the Reuters.com front-end experience - the pages, modules, stylesheets, scripts, and templates that drive the Reuters global news sites.

The ideal candidate is a talented front-end developer with good design sensibilities, capable of adapting quickly to provide creative solutions. Good communication skills are a must, as the role involves significant interaction within a multi-faceted, cross-functional group of business, marketing, editorial, design, and development team members.

Must be a team player
Strong HTML and CSS skills
Strong Javascript/dHTML skills
Strong general scripting skills - JSP, ASP
Good communication skills
Good Flash/Actionscript skills
Experience with Java Server Pages/JSTL
Experience with Content Management Systems
Experience with XML/RSS
Basic Photoshop skills
Familiarity with News/Media environments
Familiarity with interface/information design
Other programming, design, tech skills a plus

News Industry Experience

Years of Experience Required:

2 to 4 years experience in Web Design or Web Development.
College Degree is required.
