I guess it wasn't very interesting, as no-one bothered to reply. As it
happens I've spotted the problem and it's because the document isn't
well formed:
<xmpMetadata xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/ord/meta/xmp"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://xmlns.oracle.com/ord/meta/xmp
http://xmlns.oracle.com/ord/meta/xmp" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/
2001/XMLSchema-instance">
has some repetition in it and should read:
<xmpMetadata xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/ord/meta/xmp"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://xmlns.oracle.com/ord/meta/xmp"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
