Hello,
On our quite busy system (AIX 5L3-64, dbms 10.2.0.3) , I see that /app/ oracle/10.2.0/agent10g/bin/emagent is almost always active and causing considerable load, both for CPU and IO.
The parent of that process is
/app/oracle/10.2.0/agent10g/perl/bin/perl /app/oracle/10.2.0/agent10g/ bin/emwd.pl agent /app/oracle/10.2.0/agent10g/sysman/log/ emagent.nohup.

Any clues how to diagnose this?
Can it be due to the snapshots it takes in the oracle database(s), reading from the v$ dynamic performance views.

How would I be able to set a SqlTrace/event 10046 on this process? I have difficulties finding it's associated Oracle process/SID.
