Probably. But in these cases management are not generally too interested in exactly what your figure represents;
they just want some metric which can be compared against last month or last year, and maybe projected forward to next month or next year, so that they can ask intelligent sounding questions like "Do you have sufficient capacity?".

I'd be inclined to follow Sybrand's recommendation, and produce figures from statspack and v$sysstats.
