Hi,

I've seen a lot of scripts with the following commands at the beginning of the script:

allocate channel for maintenance type disk; change archivelog until time 'sysdate-1' delete; change archivelog all crosscheck;
release channel;

First, not sure what the 'change' option means. Why do you need it? Also why do the crosschecks at the beginning? Wouldn't you want them after the backup?

If you use DELETE INPUT when backing up the archive logs (PLUS ARCHIVELOG), would the crosscheck fail if you do it after the backup? Received on Mon Sep 08 2008 - 12:57:50 CDT
