It depends.
Do you want a working database, or do you enjoy hacking yourself out? Theoretically you could reconfigure the database control using emca, and that should work, however, you would still need the loopback adapter.
Reinstall from scratch.
You never should ignore messages, as almost always you'll regret this sooner or later.
