That method works for most options - like SPATIAL but not for ASO. For ASO the ONLY way we have been able to successfully remove it AND still have functioning 10g binaries is to reinstall [relink all hard-fails]. We have done [very large number] over the past year and this has always been the result. From a TAR we logged on this issue "there is no supported way to remove ASO".
