You're probably smarter than whoever supported bug 5722600, but note the references to other bugs. Since they fixed something, I read into that there is something wrong with file handles and trace files - wouldn't be the first time, eh? I'd guess your solution would put the error off long enough, anyways. What's an ACH in this bugs context (archiver handle? mispelled ARCH?)?
