Quick Question - How to view the 'DEFAULT' profile password settings

I want to see the password settings that are configured for the
DEFAULT profile on our instance of Oracle 8i.  I'm aware of the CREATE
PROFILE and ALTER PROFILE commands but I'm unaware and need to find
out what the current settings are.  I do not have access to any Oracle
tools so I need be able to do from the command line.  Thanks for the
help.
